The unstoppable growth of ID&T
Success stories often have a modest start, but that doesn’t apply to Sensation. In the nineties, house music experienced an unstoppable growth. Childhood friends from Landsmeer – Irfan, Duncan and Theo (ID&T) – made a name with hardcore, trance and techno parties, such as Thunderdome, Trance Energy and Mysteryland. Even before the millennium, ID&T had become the largest party organiser in the Netherlands. In 2000 they added a new event to their line-up: Sensation. The event starts off huge. The first edition takes place in the Amsterdam ArenA and has room for 40,000 revellers. Although the first Sensation wasn’t a sell-out event, every other edition that followed was, rapidly. This year, tickets to Sensation ‘The Legacy’ sold out within a matter of hours. Thanks to KLM there are still a few packages available, including flight and hotel. Check travel.sensation.com and you can join tens of thousands of dance fans dressed in white for an unforgettable party on 4 July 2015.
Sensation travels around the world
After 5 successful editions in Amsterdam, Sensation first went abroad in 2005. Events in Belgium and Germany were followed by editions in Chile, Russia, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Norway, Ukraine, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, South Africa, Dubai, Canada and the United States. Always featuring a new theme and new set, the annual premier takes place in Amsterdam, followed by an international tour. The 15th edition of Sensation, with theme ‘The Legacy’, will be held exclusively in Amsterdam – the place where it all started.
